Introduction

The D-2 type shifting tool is mainly composed of upper connector, core shaft, positioning sleeve, intermediate connector, cylinder body, sleeve, retaining cap, lower connector, plug cap, retaining ring, main spring, positioning key, positioning key spring and fixed base, etc. components.

The D-2 type shitting tool is a specialized tool used for opening and closing the BAKER-L type sliding sleeve.

Method of application

When descending into the well, the positioning key is in a contracted state under the action of the main spring. Once it reaches the preset position, by pressing down or lifting the tool, the main spring is compressed, and the positioning key is pushed open and clamped onto the sealing sleeve inside the sliding sleeve. Then, by applying upward or downward shock, the sealing sleeve moves, causing the sliding sleeve to open or close.

1 Open the sliding sleeve: Adjust the retaining ring according to the specification size of the sliding sleeve, and check the movement stroke of the positioning sleeve; 

1.2 Connect the D-2  shifting tool to the bottom of the shock absorber for downhole operation; 

1.3  Slow down the speed when lowering to 50 meters above the predetermined sliding cylinder; 

1.4 When reaching the sliding sleeve position, observe the change in tension to determine if the switch tool is correctly positioned; 

1.5 Raise the tool string and observe the change in tension to confirm that the positioning key of the tool is accurately at the sliding sleeve displacement sleeve position;

1.6 Upward impact to close the sliding sleeve.

Note

 When the sliding sleeve is closed by upward impact, if there is any obstruction such as underground sand in the sleeve that prevents the tool from being retrieved normally, you can continue to impact upward and cut the shear pin to force the positioning key to be retrieved.

2. Close the sliding sleeve: Adjust the retaining ring according to the specification size of the sliding sleeve, and check the movement stroke of the positioning sleeve; 

2.1 Assemble the upper joint and the protective cap at the adjusted position; 

2.2 Connect the D-2 type shitting tool to the downhole of the shock striker; 

2.3 Slowly lower to a position 50 meters above the predetermined sliding cylinder when the speed is reduced; 

2.4 When reaching the sliding sleeve position, observe the change in tension to determine if the switch tool is correctly positioned; 

2.5 Raise the tool string, observe the change in tension; continue to raise slightly and lower the tool string to observe the change in tension, and ensure that the positioning key of the tool is accurately at the sliding sleeve shift sleeve position; 

2.6 Perform a downward shock, causing the sliding sleeve to close.

Any size can be customized according to customer requirements.

Note

1. During assembly, the threads must be lubricated with grease; 
2. Any external burrs or scratches on the parts need to be smoothed out using a file. 
3. All components should be quenched and tempered according to technical requirements and undergo surface treatment. 

Maintenance and servicing

1. After disassembling the tools, check the damage of each component and replace the damaged parts. 
2. During assembly, apply a thin layer of grease on the threads.
