I.Introduction
A wireline hydraulic jar is a wireline service tool designed for dependable upward jarring during wireline operations. When a strain is taken on the wireline the top sub and mandrel are pulled upward while the piston is impeded in its upward movement by the hydraulic fluid. This delaying action allows sufficient strain to be taken on the line to strike a blow of the required intensity
When the piston passes from the restricted cylinder bore to the enlarged section, fluid resistance ceases allowing the mandrel to travel upward at great speed to strike the middle body insert and transmit the jarring force. The Jar is closed for repeat operation by slacking off tool string weight as many times as necessary to complete the operation.
II. Main structure
This tool is composed of fishing neck, gland, upper contact, outer sleeve, piston, spring, valve element, valve deck, floating piston, wiper ring and lower contact.

IV. Instructions
The bottom of hydraulic jar usually is connected with the tool jarring upward. When the tool string is lowered to the predetermined location and is more than a little, stop lowering. Lift the tool string upward slightly at first, and after encountering an obstacle, control the lifting force above the basic definite value, and then continue to lift the tool string upward in a constant speed until the steel wire loses tension suddenly, and then the jarring finished. If the first operation is not completed at a time, lower the tool string slightly so as to reset the hydraulic jar and jar repeatedly. Usually, the larger the lifting force, the shorter the delayed time and the larger the jarring force.
The hydraulic jar usually uses long-chain alkyl silicone oil with small viscosity. Select the viscosity hydraulic oil according to the concrete temperature in the well.
