III. Structural features and use:
Wireline Roller Ball Knuckle Joint bearing can not only bear radial and axial loads at the same time, but also bear a wide range of misalignment. Therefore, this bearing type is considered to be suitable for supporting and lubricating inertial components (such as gyroscopes) in aerospace and navigation fields. In this research, we put forward a numerical method to predict static and dynamic characteristics, and carry out parameter analysis on the rotating spiral groove of aerodynamic spherical bearings. The Reynolds equation is calculated by finite difference method and perturbation method, and the force coefficient is obtained. Given the complex groove distribution, the discontinuity and compressibility of the membrane, it is difficult to solve the equation numerically in the spherical coordinate system. Therefore, in this study, the Reynolds equation is modified into plane oblique coordinate system by parameter transformation and oblique coordinate transformation.Eight-point method is also used to deal with the discontinuity of film thickness. The predicted results of this method are in good agreement with the experimental data.
Then, the parameters of nominal clearance, eccentricity, rotating speed, groove depth,groove angle and disturbance frequency are studied to determine the best design parameters. The results show that these factors significantly affect the bearing characteristics in both radial and axial directions.
